Fruktlåda
By Samir Alj Fält

Fruktlådan (The Fruit Crate) originates from a collection of furniture called The Lost Son (2005) made out of fruit crates found in the market square in Skärholmen, a suburb to Stockholm. This is a symbol of a symbol, a replica of a fruit crate in scale one on two in brass, that represents a significant meeting place for a whole generation of immigrants in Skärholmen. It also constitutes a comment on the lack of cultural diverse representation, in the collections at the Swedish art and design museums. (Photos by: Jens Andersson)
